Paper Daisies | Adelaide Macro Photographer

More Paper Daisies in our garden!!

Paper daisies are awesome!!  Ever since I got my first one about 18 months ago, I’ve been looking for some more to plant in our garden.  I haven’t been able to find any, until now.  I was so excited and picked three different ones to plant.  I love the way they feel, I have never felt any flower like them before.  They really do feel like a thin delicate vellum paper, that is the only way that I can describe them.  Whenever I see them, I have to run my thumb over the top of them and feel them.  They are thriving so well, and with all the rain that we’ve had lately, they are growing and growing.  They look so beautiful with all my other daisies, that I’ve planted over the last couple of years.  I can’t wait to add some more to the mix and just have a rainbow of colours in the that part of our garden.

Port Noarlunga with a beautiful girl | Adelaide Children’s Photographer

A beautiful girl in a beautiful dress

Doing a photography session at Port Noarlunga in the autumn, is not an easy thing.  The weather was windy and cold, and the water was even colder.  But that didn’t stop us, and it certainly didn’t stop my wonderful little model.

She loved playing around on the beach, and on the jetty in her beautiful vintage dress from Dollcake.  She got her feet wet, but once the waves touched her feet, she screamed.  Yes, that water was very cold.  She was a little trooper though, and she had fun running away from the waves as she tried to not let them touch her feet.  Well, for a while at least.

Port Noarlunga

Port Noarlunga is a very beautiful place, with a jetty that people can go fishing on.  We have lived near it for awhile, and I never knew that it used to be a popular holiday destination in the early 1900’s.  In the summer, it’s packed with so many people, and the water is so nice to cool off in.  So, if you have the time and want to get away, go and check out this lovely beach, go fishing there, or even diving along the reef.

So here’s the sneak peak of the session with my gorgeous model at Port Noarlunga.  I can’t wait to share the rest of this session with you.

For some other wonderful work, please go and check out Jamie’s blog, to see her latest.

Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is an Australian icon.  I loved the way the Sydney Opera House looked at sunset, as I was leaving on my trip to New Caledonia on board the Pacific Jewel.  I have been to Sydney many times, but I have never seen the Opera House from this angle before, and especially from this height.  The Sydney Opera House is one of Australia’s most recognisable buildings throughout the world.  It sits so beautifully on the edge of the harbour, and it truly does look like giant shells sitting on the sand.  It’s perfect because when people think of Australia, they think beaches- we do have the loveliest beaches here, if I do say so myself.  I think it’s so wonderful that this wonderful building is on the world heritage list, it’s so creative and so different from anything that was created at the time.   It is such a beautiful place, especially at sunset.

Syndey Harbour Bridge

I never knew that the Sydney Harbour Bridge was also known as the ‘Coathanger’ and it was completed in 1932.  Wow!  Almost 100 years old!  We sat at the docks for awhile before we left Sydney, so I was able to take all the scenery in.  I was so excited when we approached the bridge, and being able to go under it.  It was so awesome!  I have driven over the bridge so many times, but I’ve never seen it from underneath before.  As the cruise liner passed under it, I loved looking at the metal and the different designs.  Looking up at it, I thought to myself that I would never be able to climb it like some people do.  I’m not that daring.  I’m sure it would be a fun thing to do, if I wasn’t scared of being that high up.

Childhood | Adelaide Child Photographer

Childhood

In childhood, we have a bond with our siblings that doesn’t compare to any other relationship.  Our siblings are our first friends, and can be our worst enemies at times.  But, they will be the first to defend you and protect you against others.  Childhood is fun and exciting.  It’s a time to explore and discover new things.  It’s also the only time in life that you can be crazy and to live out your day dreams everyday.   Isn’t that what childhood is all about- being a fairy princess or a pirate king if you wanted to?

I really enjoyed watching these two sisters play and have fun with each other.  The laughter and giggles was so adorable.  They skipped small pebbles off the pond in the reserve, and would see who’s would go the furthest.

I always love seeing the bond between siblings, because there is no other thing like it on earth.  After all, childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons.

Southern Adelaide

This children’s photography session was done in the southern area of Adelaide.  There is a reserve that I have driven by, that has a gorgeous big pond in it. I always wondered how a photography session would go there, and it was such a perfect place.

The colours of the sky were gorgeous, and it beautifully reflected off the water in the pond.  One of my favourite photo’s of the session, was the two girls standing in front of it.  It was the perfect moment that really showed how much these two sisters care for each other, and how much fun they have together.
